  • Festival Band
  • Every beginner student is invited to join our Festival Band. For many of these students, this is the first time they may play with such a large group. Festival Band students play at our 2:00pm All-State Concert, where they have the opportunity to hear our intermediate and advanced students perform. Rehearsal sites and times: Choose one:
March 15th - Hillside Catholic Academy from 10:00-11:30 am.
April 5th - Our Lady of the Lake, Verona from 10:00-11:30 am.
April 12th - St. Cecilia, Iselin from 1:00-2:30 pm. Concert is 2:00 pm Sunday April 20th at Caldwell College

  • Jazz Band and Woodwind Ensemble
  • Each year students who audition for State Band and are interested in performing in one of our advanced bands can try out to be a member of our All State Jazz Band or WoodWind Ensemble. These two groups perform at both the 2pm and 5pm concerts at Caldwell College on Sunday, April 20, 2008.

  • Recorder All-Stars
  • All of our third grade Recorder students are invited to be a part of the New Jersey State Band Concert! Our youngest musicians will get their first taste of performing as a group in front of an audience at our 5pm concert at Caldwell College on April 20th. It is always a big hit with the kids!

  • Practice Hints
  • Parents: Help your child set a time and a place to practice. Let your child help set up the schedule. Times can vary, but beginners should practice 15 to 20 minutes a day for no less than 5 days a week. 2nd year and more advanced students should practice about 30 minutes a day for 5 or more days a week. Encourage your child, have him or her play a "mini" concert for you once a week. Most important: be positive and appreciative of your child's efforts.
